I discovered Kundalini Yoga in Minneapolis when I stumbled upon a class in 2002. It helped me to release and move on from a relationship that had recently ended. A few weeks later I met my husband. I don't think it was a coincidence! I love the way I feel when I practice Kundalini Yoga - lighter, happier, more graceful and grateful. My name means "The pure princess of the sun who brings one from darkness to light". I completed Level 1 Teacher Training right in Portland in 2009.

Har Simran Kaur discovered Kundalini Yoga in 1979, while she was living in Boston. Her longing to practice group sadhana inspired her to move into the Ashram. In 1983, she married her husband and moved to Los Angeles, where she attended Yogi Bhajan's twice-weekly classes and weekly Gurdwara lectures. At Yogi Bhajan's invitation, in 1989, she accepted responsibility for the running of his personal household. For ten years, she was immersed in the details and consciousness of serving him in this particular way. In 2003, she completed Level 1 Teacher Training. Since 2013, she has been part of the Level 1 training team at Guru Ram Das Ashram in San Francisco. She currently teaches three Kundalini Yoga classes a week at Kundalini Yoga by the Sea in Santa Monica, CA, and since the early days of the pandemic, co-hosts a daily group sadhana on zoom. She particularly enjoys welcoming new students to the practice and integrating Yogi Bhajan's teachings on Sikh Dharma with his teachings on Kundalini Yoga.

My journey into Self was divinely planned. I first began on the path of fitness, shortly after it progressed into nutrition, and finally I arrived at the door of a yoga studio. I wasn't sure if I had to choose only one field, but the signs kept pointing me to focus on all 3: Fitness, Nutrition, and Yoga. For the first five years, I experienced the benefits of different types of yoga practices and styles of teaching. Although I did not know exactly what I was searching for, when I was introduced to Kundalini Yoga, I immediately knew and felt that this was the practice that my soul was searching for. For a year and a half, I consistently attended a weekly class. Through my teacher, Haribir Kaur, I learned about the White Tantric Yoga, full moon gong meditations, and I attended a week of Winter Solstice Celebration. This practice continuously helped me to improve the quality of my life and relationships. I decided to become a student to become a teacher of Kundalini Yoga. The journey continues. I consider myself a devoted student of this practice, and a teacher of my own experiences and insights.
